Against the Wind

Things have slowed down a lot now that the holiday is over and done with. I wore this to eat lunch with my Dad and hang out around the house. And as the title suggests, the wind today was absolutely awful! That being said, I had one hell of a time trying to snap some decent shots. I'm trying to work up motivation to begin cleaning/organizing before the new year begins but so far, to no avail.

I scored these pants on sale and couldn't be happier with them. I know the skinny cargo is what's on trend right now but let's be honest, I'm a big girl and have a hard enough time 'pulling off' skinny jeans, much less another type of pant in an unforgiving cut. So for now I'll stick to my wide(r) leg cargos, thank you very much!

And finally, a quick word about this plaid shirt. I wear this sucker all the freakin' time but have been holding off of featuring it on here. If I had to choose one shirt to wear every day for the rest of my life, it'd be this guy right here. Soft, cheap, the perfect fit, great colors and PLAID, need I say more?

Happy Christmas, War Is Over (If You Want It)

Today was Christmas as we all know...so I hope everyone had a fantastic day filled with good food (too much!) laughter and loads of relaxation. I'm planning to have an outfit post tomorrow, I've mostly been slumming around the house in sweats, just what the holidays are for! Just wanted to show you all a couple of photos of our decorations, ornaments, all that good stuff. See if you can spot my brother in the 4th photo down, isn't he too cute with his bowl cut (from ages ago) Haha! I'm off to hang out with my family and watch Inception, enjoy the rest of the weekend lovlelies.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone...

So thanks to my loving, fantastic boyfriend I now have a working camera (complete with memory card), making it possible for me to start taking photos again. Thanks Neil for letting me steal your stuff!

I wore this today to go to the chiropractor, eat lunch with my Dad and finish up some Christmas shopping. The weather was predicted as being 'mostly sunny with some clouds' but as you can see, it was more like all clouds without any chance of sun...ah the joys of winter! Hope each and everyone of you is doing well, enjoying the cooler weather and preparation for the holidays. I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. Have a lovely week you guys.

Why so blue, panda bear?

So I've got bad news...and more bad news. Let's hear it all at once, shall we? Okay, cool.
For starters my laptop was stolen WHILE I was on campus and IN CLASS! Ridiculous, right?? I know. And then today while attempting to take outfit photos (for the first time in ages) I realized I left my memory card in my laptop. Meaning of course that I am completely and totally screwed.

All things considered, I think it's safe to say that this blog is going to suffer from lack of attention for awhile. I hope to hear some news from security on my laptop soon. So please you guys, send some kind thoughts, good luck, or prayers my way. I need 'em real bad.

Hope y'all are doing better than I am. I wanted to post something of inspiration on here, the above are things/looks I'm lusting over lately.

How I Won the War

You guys I'm done with school for the semester!! Well technically I still have finals, but after turning in all the papers and projects the rest will be a breeze.  Wednesday is my last day to have a final and then I can go on holiday!

Neil took these pictures of me when we were driving back from my house at Thanksgiving.  I found this collar on an old jacket that I'd completely forgotten about & found buried in the back of my closet (in my old room at home).  Thank God I never get rid of anything, right? And this jacket is one of my favorite things that I own. I found it in a flea market back when I was in high school and I actually has the man's name on it and everything. Cool, huh?

Since yesterday

So this outfit is nothing great, but I've been under the weather lately and therefore....well, I didn't give a shit yesterday.  This week is going to be a whirlwind, what with finals next week and all that junk.  My hair is indeed lighter (as previously mentioned) and I couldn't be happier. (Thanks Mom!!)  I couldn't be more excited for the Christmas holiday, so I just have to hold it together until then.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

The Aftermath

I sincerely hope that each and every one of you had a fantastic Thanksgiving yesterday. I stuffed myself silly and will continue to do so the remainder of my time at home (and I don't plan to feel guilty about it either). It's SO good to be back at my parents' house, I haven't been here in about 6 months and this time I brought Neil with me.

Today's plans include:
(1) Mom's highliting my hair!
(2) eateatcookeat!!
(3) watch movies!!!
(4) take outfit photos!!!!

And with that, I leave you all to enjoy your Friday. I spent the majority of Tuesday and ALLLL of Wednesday cleaning/organizing/sorting...I guess it's my version of spring cleaning, just you know, a couple of months late? Anyway, I thought I'd show off the 'fruits of my labor'. Til tomorrow you guys :)

New (and improved?)

These are a few of the pieces I've gotten recently. I wish I had an outfit post ready to go but we just finished a show and I'm completely wiped out. Rehearsals didn't take up too much time thankfully, but with a play that runs 2 weekends, there's just no time to spare.

However my first holiday break is coming up in a couple of days & I couldn't be more ready! That being said, I'll have loads of time to take photos (or, if we're being honest, make Neil take photos of me). After all that's what boyfriends are for, right??

Closing thoughts- I'm considering making the switch to Tumblr...any suggestions or comments from you wonderful ladies who stop by here?

Not quite a lifetime

These photos were taken awhile ago....ages it seems, although it's probably only been a few weeks. I go on weekly lunch dates with my friend Kayla (who took my photos in the last post, as well as this one!) She's readily agreed to be my photographer on those days, what a woman!

Quick story about this dress. I have the one pictured here, as well as one in gray with navy blue flowers and I adore them both. So the other day while out shopping, I noticed that Kohl's had another version of the dress but in black with cream flowers, so obviously I HAD to buy it. The best part? Every one I've bought has been on clearance, so at most I've spent about $8 a piece. Now that's a habit I'd never break!

Yikes! Stripes!

So this is a look I wore to lunch with one of my good friends (who took these photos, thanks Kayla!) last week. I scored this sweater at a thrift store and immediately fell in love. The jacket is something I'd almost forgotten about, but I love it paired with the sweater!

Cold as Ice

It is SO good to be back "in action". I've missed you gals like crazy! Hope everyone is/has been doing well, life going grand and all that. It's finally starting to get cold here & there's nothing I love more than dressing for fall. (Well, okay I do love my man and a great record collection and a couple other things, but still....) That being said, I'm dying to layerlayerlayer anything and everything. These leggings are one of my favorite pairs and I knew this sweater would go with them perfectly. Have a wonderful rest of the week, gang.
